Too Hip for the Room

I almost tear up while watching this. Too hip for the room, indeed.
The Pirate Bay on trial.
It's day four of a trial that could have a significant impact on file sharing. The Pirate Bay are an organization that operates out of Sweden and does not break any Swedish laws. Unfortunately, the United States government is trying to strongarm the Swedish government on behalf of our major corporate entities, the MPAA and RIAA.
Torrent Freak has been following the trials, and are writing regular updates on each day.

I recommend to everyone that they educate themselves on events in this matter. It's an excellent example of how our government takes a stance of, "If you can't beat 'em, ban 'em" in this era of global communication.

Here is the latest "Steal this Film" documentary that covers a good amount of the facts of the issue at hand.

You may be asking yourself what this has to do with George Carlin. I respond with this: George Carlin wasn't afraid to criticize our government. This is a perfect example of how our government "plays nice in the schoolyard." The United States government is a bully in the schoolyard. If you don't stop doing what we don't like, (by the way, things that we don't like don't include actions taken against our majority, it's those close friends of ours. The ones that can afford to buy our friendship.) we have the power to destroy you.

The whole ordeal is pretty ridiculous. This is the reason file sharing has become a decentralized service.
